Carlyle Place, Navicent Health Announces Carlyle at Home

New Program Allows Benefits of Continuing Care in the Home

MACON, GA (Wednesday, March 30, 2016) – Carlyle Place, Navicent Health – central Georgia's first Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) – is pleased to announce the addition of a new program that will provide the benefits of continuing care to senior citizens who prefer to remain in their home rather than live on a CCRC campus.

Thanks to legislation passed by Georgia's General Assembly and signed into law by Gov. Nathan Deal in May 2015, Carlyle Place and other licensed CCRCs within the state may now extend their continuing care services to those who prefer to remain in their own homes as they age. The passage of S.B. 111 permits CCRCs to offer a "life care agreement" to those beyond a residential campus setting, an idea that has been discussed by Carlyle Place and its board of directors since 2010.

"There are many seniors who would benefit from the programs offered on a CCRC campus, but would never wish to leave their home. The creation of home-based programs will not only provide more Georgians with access to continuing care services, but will also allow the associated costs to be more affordable," said Tom Rockenbach, Chief Administrative Officer for Carlyle Place, Navicent Health.

With the passage of S.B. 111, Carlyle Place has become the state’s premier site for bringing home-based continuing care to the market. On March 15, 2016, Navicent Health introduced "Carlyle Place At Home," a program that offers healthcare coverage, coordination and navigation within the home. Membership is available to individuals age 62 and older who meet certain financial and health requirements.

Services begin when a member requires assistance with only one daily living activity. Carlyle Place at Home is a membership program for senior adults that coordinates and pays for a package of services, providing support as they age in their own homes. It is designed for independent and active seniors who want the same security that a retirement community offers. Members ultimately have access to assisted living and skilled nursing care under their membership agreement.

"Members of Carlyle Place at Home receive the benefits of having their future healthcare needs coordinated, just as our Carlyle Place campus residents do. The program is proactively focused on wellness, and when the services are needed, a person is available to coordinate care. This is one more way that Navicent Health is providing access to affordable, personalized care right where the resident lives," said Dr. Ninfa M. Saunders, President and CEO of Navicent Health.

Through Carlyle Place At Home, Navicent Healthwill serve senior citizens residing in central Georgia. To find out if you or a loved one may qualify, please call 478-405-4549.
